AERA is a luxury vegan footwear brand that was launched in February 2020 by Tina Bhojwani to demonstrate that luxury style, design, and quality can go hand-in-hand with sustainability. This commitment to sustainability is core to our DNA, which is why we are 100% vegan, carbon-neutral, and a certified B Corp. Each pair is ethically crafted by artisans in Italy, as we strive to protect both the planet and its people.
Our Founder
Tina Bhojwani is the Founder & CEO of AERA. She has over 20 years of experience in the fashion industry, where she previously held key leadership roles at global brands including Donna Karan, Theory and Dolce & Gabbana. Throughout her career, she has seen the impact of fashion on people and the planet and recognized the need for change, not only as a business imperative, but more importantly, a deeply human one. She built AERA as a platform to address these environmental and social challenges, with the hope of making its practices the new normal in fashion.
Our Design
We believe that people should feel good about the shoes they are wearing on every level–from the environmental impact, to the design and feel of each pair. That’s why every pair of AERA footwear combines sustainable, vegan materials with sophisticated designs and our signature quilted insoles. We developed this unique quilted design element, now a registered trademark with the USPTO, not only to enhance comfort with a layer of cushion, but also to elevate the aesthetic appeal of every pair.
